For he stands at the right hand of the needy,
to save them from those who would condemn them to death.
Dear Lord, this psalm reminds me to pray for the needy. So I pray, first of all, for those who are in physical danger, that You would save them. Reach out to those who are falsely accused, so that their innocence may be revealed. Extend Your gracious hand to believers who are incarcerated because of their faith. Grant them Your peace and set them free. May Your resources be given to the poor, so that they may flourish. Stir up Your people so that we might feed the hungry and clothe the naked. Give comfort, Lord, to those whose hearts are heavy today because of loss of loved ones. Give faith to those struggling with doubt.
May all who are in need today turn to You, and discover that You are there with them, at their right hand.
Jesus said, “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-29)
